Zero Tolerance Policy
Elevate Community has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. By using this App you agree that you will not post, upload, share, or transmit content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable, and you will not harass, threaten, intimidate, impersonate, or abuse other members. Accounts that violate this policy are suspended or permanently terminated. Reported content and users are reviewed by our moderation team and action is taken within 24 hours.
Welcome to Elevate Community. These Terms of Use ("Terms" or "EULA") govern your use of the Elevate Community mobile application (the "App") operated by Elevate Community, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. By tapping "I agree" during signup and onboarding, you accept and are bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will promptly terminate their account and delete their data.
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.
4. Community Guidelines
Elevate Community is a faith-based community for young professionals. We expect all members to treat each other with respect and kindness. By using the App, you agree to:
- Be respectful and considerate in all interactions
- Engage in good faith with other community members
- Follow the guidance of community leaders and moderators
- Report content or behavior that violates these Terms
5. User-Generated Content
The App allows you to create and share content, including messages, posts, photos, and other materials ("User Content").
- Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you create and share through the App.
- License: By posting User Content, you grant Elevate Community a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content within the App.
- Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you share.
- Removal: We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.
6. Content Moderation
- AI-Assisted Monitoring: We use automated tools to help identify content that may violate our community guidelines. This technology assists our moderation efforts but does not make final decisions on its own.
- Human Review: Flagged or reported content is reviewed by our team within 48 hours.
- Appeals: If your content is removed or your account is restricted, you may contact us to request a review.
7. Prohibited Conduct (Zero Tolerance)
Elevate Community has zero tolerance for the following. Any of these behaviors result in immediate removal of the content and suspension or permanent termination of the account. You agree not to use the App to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users
- Post hate speech, discriminatory content, or content promoting violence
- Post sexually explicit, obscene, graphic, or nude content
- Impersonate any person, organization, or entity
- Send spam, unsolicited promotions, or commercial solicitations
- Engage in or promote illegal activity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
- Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful code
- Collect or harvest other users' personal information
- Create content that endangers minors in any way
7a. Reporting and Blocking
Every post, message, and profile in the App includes a Report action that lets you flag objectionable content. After you submit a report, you are given the option to Block the user who posted the content. Blocking removes that user's content from your view and prevents them from messaging you. Reports are triaged by our moderation team within 24 hours; confirmed violations result in content removal and account action up to and including permanent termination.
8. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App, you also agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, content, and branding, is owned by Elevate Community and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content without our written permission, or reverse engineer the App's source code.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Elevate Community makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not endorse or verify User Content posted by members.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elevate Community, its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed $100.
12. Account Termination
- By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or pose a risk to the community.
- By You: You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings or by emailing support@elevatecommunity.app. Your data will be removed within 30 days.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date and notify you through the App or via email for significant changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updates.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in El Paso County, Colorado.
